Originally posted by Wouter Van daele, 3/24/02 at 10:16:03 PM. I bought this machine in May 1999. It wasn’t new – actually, it hit the road on 1991-09-30, but it had lots of options, low mileage end was in excellent condition. Let’s take a virtual tour…
Options on the machine included: ABS brakes, higher windshield, special touring saddle, bags and topcase, heated grips, protective bars around the engine, and an extra instrument panel (fuel gauge, voltmeter, dashboard light, cigarette lighter and 12V power outlet).
The bike had a few small scratches, but it was accident-free until mid-2012: I did not “hit the dirt” with this one!
[Edited on 2012-06-06 to reflect changes in the BMW website] Technical details can be found on the official BMW website, at http://www.bmw-motorrad.com/com/de/
. First open the “Faszination” menu and click on “Historische BMW Modelle”. Then use the “Suche nach Modeltyp” on the right, select on “K-Reihe” in the list “Wählen Sie eine Baureihe” and then pick the right model.
[Edited on 2012-07-13 to reflect changes in ownership ;-)] I sold the K75RT on July 1st, 2012, not without hesitation – but there simply isn’t enough room in my garage for two bikes and a small army of bicycles.
