Last week, a relative of mine as well as a friend passed away. If nothing else, that should explain why I did not post any entries to this blog, even though I have a long list of subjects to write about. Patience, please.
While looking for portraits of said relative I stumbled upon photos I made a long time ago, in the first days of digital photography. I made them with my Nikon Coolpix 885 in 2002, as well as with the Nikon Coolpix 5400 in 2005: you’ll find copies of them on Flickr.
I find it quite remarkable that those images do not look that old, at least on a computer screen and without magnification. We may always be lusting for the latest technology and more resolution, but these photographs prove that you don’t need the latest stuff to make pictures that are worth looking at.
