German company Wunderlich specialises in all kind of parts for BMW motorcycles. Their newsletter is always worth reading. Here’s what I read a few days ago:
It was available for just three years. In 2008 the Bavarians removed it from the programme after a good 1000 days in production.
Now, in the era of the new waterboxer, would actually be the perfect time for a reincarnation. Obviously, we are talking about the BMW R 1200 S LC, the great-grandson of the once legendary white and blue sportiness, the R 90 S.
If it were out now, or maybe even tomorrow, or next week, we would have a pretty good idea of ??how it would look. Our designer Nicolas Petit put this exact idea down on paper.

The (currently non-existing) R1200S LC, as designed by N.Petit (Wunderlich)
As the (happy!) owner of an R1100S I should be drawn to that bike. It certainly looks as if it were designed by BMW, but in my eyes their proposal lacks the elegance of the R1100S. For my touring ambitions this machine, just like the earlier R1200S, is too sporty. I guess I’m prejudiced ;-)
