I’m a bit confused as to the situation of the Russian programmer Dmitry Sklyarov in the American judicial system. I mean, a lot of people seem to think that by learning the strengths and weaknesses of say a certain type of lock, you should automatically be considered a burglar. I suppose the same reasoning will be applied to everyone who builds firearms: they must be murderers, don’t you think?
I have downloaded a version of Jabber, which I will try out one of these days. I fully understand (and applaud) Dave Winer, when he tells the whole world that XML-RPC is an excellent way to go (if not: the way). Why not try to combine an interface like MacJournal with XML-RPC access to Manila (or Jabber, or Zope, or Blogger, or … – right: it’s about freedom of choice!) ?
